About

This exhibition is part of a series of projects of the Panera Educational Service, which since 2011 began the production of different exhibitions designed for children and families ("I + I + R. From the work of Curro Claret », 2011,« Draw! », 2013, and« It rains, Neva, Pinta », 2015), but with the intention of reaching as wide an audience as possible, so that the conceptual and discursive demand of these exhibitions keeps the interest for the set of visitors.
On this occasion the natural and artificial dichotomy is worked; In a historical moment in which both concepts seem to have blurred more than ever, the limits between one and the other are imprecise, which is why, often, we are led to more than one confusion and deception. On many occasions we find what is natural, adulterated, and artificial, covered with a certain natural aura; everything will depend on where the accent is placed. In today's world, based on market laws, consumer fashions oscillate between these two poles: natural, healthy, organic and ecological products, which at the same time are accessible, easy to manage, affordable and technological.
Faced with this situation, the exhibition explores how different artists have treated this dichotomy in a series of works that address issues such as materials, landscape, food and animals. An exhibition tour that is interwoven, as a continuous bass, by a series of interventions by the designer Martín Azúa, who has somehow colonized the exhibition space with a fungus that connects us with the natural. At the same time, Martín Azúa, in the final space of the exhibition, proposes a series of workshops that activate the space according to the topics dealt with in the different areas. These activities are the result of the «Cajas de artista» project, which has received support from the Banco Santander Foundation and in which artists such as Anne-Marie Cornu, Miquel Mont and Guillermo Mora have taken part.
