About
Inspired by natural history, museum collections and Victorian book engravings, Paperology showcases a range of prints, jewellery and sculpture by Staffordshire-based artist Naomi Greaves.
A self-described collector of unusual things, Greave’s work brings new life to the old, and her personal collection of unique objects includes the strange and macabre.
Her first solo exhibition, Paperology is mainly inspired by Victorian entomology collections, as well as Cabinet Curiosities and etchings. Using antique paper and cutting techniques she creates her own entomologic assemblages, including specimen trays, oval frames and glass domes.
The meticulously hand-crafted artwork, which is simultaneously beautiful and disquieting, will be displayed in a range of unusual cases and cabinets, also sourced by the artist herself.
