Naked Talk, Naked Gifts, Naked Panellists

About

Naked Talk, Naked Gifts, Naked Panellists Wednesday 2nd November Doors 6.30pm Panel underway 7pm sharp A panel discussion, in two parts, exploring the different formats facing album art designers today. Storm Thorgerson will be joined by artist Luke Insect, MOJO picture editor (among many other things) Dave Brolan, and graphic designer and writer Adrian Shaughnessy. *Part One What Happened to Portraits in the Current Climate of Album Design? Thirty, forty years ago portraits were fundamental to album cover design and for raising the profile of bands through a physical identity. As musical acts become increasingly anonymous and arguably faceless, we ask where portraits have gone and why album cover designs are increasingly less figurative. *Part Two Album Covers: Does Anyone Give a Fuck Anyway? Do album covers matter? Do we like them or value them? What's their function anyway? Storm Thorgerson will be present at the event and will be voicing his views. There will also be an opportunity to get involved in the discussion and challenge our panellists with questions. This event is free but booking is essential as places are limited. Book online though Eventbrite here — http://nakedpanellists.eventbrite.com Doors close 8.30pm. This event runs as part of Storm Thorgerson: Big & Small, which is open to the public until Sunday 13th November. For more information contact rachel@ideageneration.co.uk
