It may be that we were looking for a new challenge in spring 2013 because the Rathaus Galerie Hoppegarten, which we founded, was a new meeting place for art that was increasingly being noticed by the public, and not just in our community. It really was a unique opportunity to make our mark. We just had to want to do it and do it. We are talking about the NACHLESE project, with the decisive impetus coming from the Brandenburg Art Prize, which was awarded for the tenth time that year. The all-important question for us was: what will happen to the applications for the coveted awards in painting, graphic art and sculpture - photography was added in 2018 - that are not on display in the exhibition at Schloss Neuhardenberg? In our limited space, can we use this annual harvest time for the artists of the state of Brandenburg for a REVIEW, the selection of which is, of course, also subjective?
