Alte Freundschaft und gemeinsam realisierte Ausstellungsprojekte verbinden die Künstler Ma Ke, Xu He, Zhu Xianwei und Sun Yi. Aufgewachsen in den 70er und 80er Jahren, vereint sie die Erfahrung einer politischen und ökonomischen Öffnung Chinas. Künstlerisch entsagen Ma Ke, Xu He, Zhu Xianwei und Sun Yi einem formalistischen Konzept zugunsten emotionaler, figurativer Ansätze in individuellen Gesamtabstraktionen.

Old friendships and joint exhibitions connect the artist circle of Ma Ke, Xu He, Zhu Xianwei und Sun Yi. Grown up in the 70’s and 80’s, they are connected through the experience of China’s political and economical opening. Artistically, Ma Ke, Xu He und Zhu Xianwei do not consequently follow a formalistic concept in favor of emotional, figurative approaches that finally result in comprehensive, individual abstractions.
