A day of Nordic larps exploring collective silence and non-verbal physical story telling.

About

A free full day of Nordic Larps (Live Action Role-play) at Siobhan Davies Dance Studios for new and experienced players alike, exploring collective silence and non-verbal physical story telling.

MUSTER AND HUSH marks the second part of a Parade for Peckham research project by the artist Adam James in association with MOCA London.

THE LARPS:

'BEFORE AND AFTER SILENCE'
By Matthijs Holter and Fredrik Hossman - run by Kevin Burns and Adam James.

In a world of more and more sound, silence is becoming more valuable. Before and After Silence is about limitations and listening, and about doing almost nothing. Using silence as its starting point it is about shifting the point of view from “what is” to “what is not,” about shifting the focus from “the sounds” to “the spaces between the sounds,” from “the actions” to what is “between the actions,” and to “what is not done.” Rather than playing characters, we examine how we look at ourselves and how different filters can change how we see ourselves and others.

Number of players: 15-20
Number of organisers: 2
Time: 3hrs
Genre: Internal space drama. Stylized realism.
Organizer style: The organizer leads the exercises, serves as a contact during the game, and plays along with the others.
Location: A quiet room large enough to move around in, but not so large that you get lost in it.
Workload: Easy

'IN YOUR HANDS'
By Simon Pettitt, Åsa Nilsson and Lea Pullerits - run by Simon Pettitt & Adam James.

'In Your Hands' is a non-verbal Larp set in an abstract, symbolic and physically charged world. Through co-creative role-play this game explores repeated frozen moments, the co-dependant extremes of human emotions and the path from personal conflict to collective resolution.

'In Your Hands' is a new game emerging out of the 2015 Norwegian cultural organisation Fantasiforbundet's Larporatory a follow up to the 2014 Larpwriter summer School, a five-day intensive summer course set deep within a Lithuanian Pine Forest.
