We cordially invite you to "Music & Punch". The musicians Gerhard Uebele and Klaus Kürvers will perform unique improvisations on violin and double bass that you can enjoy in a relaxed, festive atmosphere with a glass of Christmas punch. We look forward to seeing you!

About

Gerhard Uebele (*1962) is a violinist for Free Improvisation, additionally he works as a music journalist. After his studies of musicology, philosophy and pedagogy, Uebele has performed regularly with leading musicians of Free Jazz and Free Improvisation since the 1980s. He also worked for the Neue Dresdner Kammermusik (New Dresden Chamber Music). In 2009, he developed and organized the festival Violinale in Berlin in cooperation with the Exploratorium Berlin.

Klaus Kürvers (*1950) is an architect, historian for architecture, author and musician. He mainly published about the architecture and cultural history of Berlin and is, as a bassist, part of the scene for improvised music in Berlin. Kürvers was taught playing the double bass by Peter Trunk, amongst others. He was member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra in Essen and has played Free Jazz since 1967. From 1969 till 1971 he and Rainer Brüninghaus were part of the Jazz-rock band Eiliff bevor Kürvers mainly focused on his work as an architect and historian for architecture. Since 2006 Kürvers is working as a bassist again and has published several CDs since 2010, for example in cooperation with the contrabass quartet Sequoia and the violinist Thea Farhadian.
