Art Model Collective's third instalment of FASHION LIFE DRAWING WITH A LIVE MUSIC SOUNDTRACK at LimeWharf!

AMC are back at LimeWharf Makers' Hub for another multi-model fashion life drawing event, and this time we collaborate with two extraordinary London talents, leather specialist artist and designer ROB GOODWIN and bespoke shoe designer, Natacha Marro.

This extravagant multi-model life drawing session will be set to live music by composer and electronic violinist Takatsuna Mukai, whose atmospheric soundtracks you will know from previous life art + live music sessions by Art Model Collective.

We'll have some free art materials for spontaneously visiting artists (but as always, please bring your favourite tools).

More about the collaboration:

ROB GOODWIN is a couture footwear, accessories and costume designer/maker. After freelance technical work in TV he decided to learn to do something more creative involving hand skills and craftsmanship. His MA final collection presented hand-made leather headwear pieces based on a strong narrative concept. Rob's shoes, boots and helmets that were inspired by the costumes and mask making traditions of both the Venice Carnival and of the tribes of the Congo Delta combined to create something unique, modern and original. Rob hand-crafts exquisite helmets, masks and accessories that have been worn by Madonna on the cover of Harpers Bazaar and featured in publications like Vogue, and collaborations with National Ballet.

Outside of fashion he’s also made leather sculptures which have been exhibited in group art shows alongside work by Sir Peter Blake, Rachel Whiteread, Gavin Turk and Vivienne Westwood amongst others, most recently at the Saatchi Gallery.

He is currently working on a new collection alongside designing costume pieces for the English National Ballet's forthcoming production of Stravinsky's Firebird as well as designing for other footwear labels and producing bespoke pieces for commercials, film and theatre.

NATACHA MARRO has over 15 years of experience designing and making shoes and her client list includes David Bowie, Björk, Lady Gaga, Daphne Guinness, Grace Jones, Gwen Stefani, Goldfrapp, Noel Fielding, Grayson Perry, etc.

Natacha has also worked extensively with Madame Tussauds, film and TV production companies (such as Maleficent and Star Wars) and fashion designers (Pam Hogg, Charles Anastase, Hannah Marshall and Ossie Clark to name a few) designing and making the shoes for their Fashion Week catwalk shows.

Her bespoke shoes have appeared numerous times in Vogue (Italian, French, German and UK) as well as publications such as Vanity Fair, Elle, Grazia, Metro, The Daily Telegraph, Time Out, Glamour Magazine, Dazed & Confused, Harper’s Bazaar, The Times, Sunday Times Style and even National Geographic.

TAKATSUNA MUKAI is a brilliant multi-instrumentalist musician, composer and producer who plays a mean electric violin. We've had the pleasure of collaborating with Taka on many AMC events and projects, and his dreamy atmospheric soundscapes always seamlessly enrich the experience of life drawing.

LIMEWHARF MAKERS HUB is a cultural innovation centre situated along Regent’s Canal, East London. Through various programs, residencies and happenings, it provides an experimentation infrastructure with a social impact focus, and we are truly honoured to be invited to be a part of this gang!
The venue is tucked away off Vyner Street, and has a stage, excellent lighting, a bar, and extremely lovely hosts to help us create a beautiful session for you lucky artists.
