Logistics and registrar duties workshop with Julia Villard
Do you stay up all night thinking about customs procedures? Are you unsure how to ship those fragile sculptures overseas within a tight budget? Would you like to share your experiences with other art-workers facing similar dilemmas?
In this workshop, Julia Villard will share her practical experiences overseeing the logistics of numerous international art fairs, organising loans to museums or consignments to third parties, shipping and installing collectors’ pieces worldwide. With Brexit around the corner and its associated uncertainties, we will devise together a shipping/customs glossary and check list to give you the confidence to work through any registrarial task.
BRING YOUR QUESTIONS, WE’LL BRING COFFEE AND BISCUITS. We encourage participants to come with their own case-specific practical dilemmas.
Julia Villard is director and previously manager at Sarah Myerscough Gallery, a London based commercial gallery specialising in contemporary design and craft. She holds a BA in Sculpture from Wimbledon College and an MA in Cultural Policy from UCD. She is currently assisting on the MA Curating and Collection at Chelsea College of Art as part of the Teaching Within programme initiated by Shades of Noir.
