About
The exhibition explores the emotional labour of mothering* and the impossible expectations heaped onto modern mothers by the conventions of patriarchal motherhood. It includes a new series of works based on the artist's figure that emphasise the tensions inherent in her roles as both artist and mother.
*The term mother refers to the primary caregiver, regardless of reproductive role or gender identity.
