About

Applications are now open for the Moritz-Heyman Residencies at the Artist's House in Pignano, Tuscany for emerging and established painters from the UK, for whom drawing is part of their practice. Fully funded four week residencies are available throughout 2014. The Artist's House provides self-catering accommodation with a large private studio at the heart of Pignano's 750 acre estate of fields, woods and hills, located between Florence and Siena. The studio has high ceilings and good natural light. Artists will need to bring their own art materials. The residencies are funded by Sir Michael Moritz and Harriet Heyman, who hold a major collection of British contemporary paintings. One piece of each resident artist's work will be chosen for the Moritz-Heyman collection at the end of the residency, in consultation with the artist. Applicants should submit an application form, a CV, a non-returnable digital portfolio of 10 images on a CD or DVD, and up to 3 sketchbooks, to The Prince's Drawing School, 19-22 Charlotte Road, London, EC2A 3SG by 7pm on the day of the deadline. The deadline for applications for residencies between January and June 2014 is Monday 2nd December 2013. Applications for residencies in the latter half of 2014 will open in the Spring with a deadline of Monday 5th May 2014. Selection for residencies will be made by a jury of distinguished artists and curators. Requests for residencies of a longer or shorter period may be considered, and it may also be possible for artists to bring family members along with them.
