About
or a story that persists in the belly of another
you should have become a cyclist/
like your father said/
and he/
this gildling/
this pigheaded devil/
heard it/
and was moved/
he mimicked it/
he learned its naked vowels/
he spoke it/
sang it/
shouted it/
although it’s meaning still escaped him/
(This is an assemblage of own text and a fragment of poem XI from ‘Preludes for Memnon’ by Conrad Aiken)
After Lisa Sudhibhasilp’s successful first round, it is now time for the second talent that P/////AKT scouted for the POOL last year: monique ijsseldijk, a 2016 graduate of Fine Art at AKI ArtEZ in Enschede. From June until November 2017 monique will realise three consecutive solo presentations in the tower-annex of P/////AKT. The presentations will run simultaneously to the main program.
