About
Monika Wesselmann presents a range of mixed media pieces through sculpture, canvas and drawings, combining materials like steel, mesh and plaster, acrylic and paper. Her work from the last three years is very figurative and sends messages through body language, gesture and posture. Much of Monika's inspiration comes from works that hold qualities of stillness and emotional energy. Monika enjoys working with a range of materials because it opens up an exciting field of opportunities to experiment and allow the viewer to recognize and emotionally connect with the work, this is something very important to her.
Monika Wesselmann completed her degrees in Fine Art, German Language and Literature and Special Education and worked as an art teacher in Germany before moving to Norfolk to concentrate on her own work.
