Solo, collective and multi-lingual recitations from memory of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

About

A performance series in 60 Acts During November artist Monica Ross works with children from the Cathedral Primary School in Southwark to internalise the rights and responsibilities to which every human being is entitled. Cathedral Primary School was the first school in the borough to achieve a Rights Respecting School Award from UNICEF. At Southwark Cathedral on 13 November, the Children from Class 4 will join Monica in a collective recitation — from memory - of the entire text of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Act 47 is the first recitation by children in Monica Ross's ongoing performance series, Anniversary — an act of memory. Act 47 is produced by Beaconsfield with Act of Memory and Cathedral Primary School and supported by Arts Council England. PLEASE NOTE: This event will take place at Southwark Cathedral, not at Beaconsfield.
