RITA URSO artopiagallery is pleased to present the new exhibitions season with the performance of the Dutch artist Feiko Beckers (Netherlands 1983), titled Moments.
The event, that will take place in the future space of the gallery, an ex factory of the end of XIX century inside the courtyard, is strongly linked to the presentation of the volume RITA URSO artopiagallery 20 YEARS, realized in occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the gallery.
The catalogue, in a bilingual edition, is divided in two sections: the former is dedicated to the show I love the gallery realized in March 2021 in order to celebrate the gallery's anniversary, the latter deals with exhibitions that took place from 2001, through a wide selection of images and curatorial texts. Two small texts from gallerists introduce the first part, followed by Giulia Bortolu zzi and Irene Rivolta's critical contributes, that talks about the unusual nature of the exhibit ing space, originally thought as two adjacent but independent spaces - a gallery and a home - and about the evolution the space had during the time.
The Dutch artist, invited to freely interpret the story of the exhibition space and its path, creates an action that deals with the concept of change. By adopting themes and objects, borrowed from the book's world, as his huge bookmarks sculptures that act on the scene like special markers of memory, Beckers underlines the importance of passage and transformation moments that distinguish everyone's life.

In the following days, Moments goes on ideally at the first floor of the gallery with the project Bookmarks, a special reading room dedicated to the reading of the catalogue and all the publications realized by the gallery during its activity. On a wall, the video that records Feiko Beckers performance, curated by the director Tommaso Frangini, reiterates the relationship between the performative action and the reading world.
