Part two of the work on the courtyard of the town hall in Marl, Creiler Platz 1, 45768 Marl Favaretto’s works are distinguished by a minimalist formal language that takes on social and political meaning in part through the choice of location.
About
Her contribution to the 2017 exhibition is a block of granite situated opposite the colonial monument commemorating the fallen troops of the train battalion. The stone is hollowed out so that visitors can throw money in through a slit. After the exhibition, it will be destroyed, the rubble reutilized, and the money donated to the Buren prisoners’ aid association to help refugees in detention pending deportation.
