About
Modernism and Caracas brings together eight architectural projects that envisioned and stimulated the shape of the modern city. Conditioned by its ideal climate and lush vegetation, Modernist ideals developed naturally in Caracas. The landmark projects shown have been chosen to represent a Modernist approach that was socially acceptable to Venezuelans and is deeply embedded in recent Venezuelan cultural identity. It emerges throughout the city and Caracas' way of life. This exhibition offers a view of what Modernism gave to Caracas, and what Caracas gave back.Verónica Liprandi (Curator)
