Rostra Gallery welcomes in the spring with an exhibition celebrating the exciting work of today's leading contemporary artists. Showcasing new work from established and emerging artists Rostra Gallery aims to give you a taste for an exceptional year of art. A collection of original paintings by Donald Hamilton Fraser will be the centre of the show. Donald's recogniseable style combines bold colour with texture and movement, being a member of the Royal Academy proved his ability and commitment to creating powerful, awe inspiring paintings. Sadly passing away in 2009 his work continued to be highly sought after and is exhibited throughout the UK and around the world. Sir Peter Blake's latest collection of work inspired by vintage illustration and collage conjure up a sense of nostalgia for a childhood age of innocence and excitement. Alongside Bruce McLean's silkscreen prints incorporate collaged elements giving an abstract quality whilst Brad Faine's limited edition prints use interweaving spirals of film stills to create fascinating complex works of art. Rostra Gallery also introduces painter and printmaker Lucy Farley who has a fresh and dynamic take on nature, landscape and the spirit of place.
