AboutMillennium Mixed Winter Exhibition, Launches Saturday 20th December, 7 until 9 pm.
The past few months at âMillennium' have been extremely productive. We are extremely excited to have recently taken over the reigns with full and enthusiastic support of previous Director David Falconer, and to be working with and expanding upon its important group of represented artists.
Our work with our sister gallery âGoldfish' has been widely heralded in recent years; Art Critic, Brian Sewell, recently stated that it provided more energy than the entire West End combined and in turn âthumped anything he had seen in London for years', of course this statement is both flattering and a little extravagant, but it is testament to work that is produced in the area when shown with thought and consideration, Such energies have helped both Goldfish and the artists represented meet a wider audience.
This focus is now going into âMillennium' we have big plans to continue and develop this important gallery in to a significant hub for the very best Contemporary Art in Cornwall and continue to provide a platform to this rich, vibrant and relevant art scene, to make it of local, National and International interest. Both galleries will have different identities with occasional crossover reflecting the diversity of the Contemporary scene, but quality and authenticity will bind and the focus will be on reflecting and celebrating the Elemental, Environmental, Spiritual and Emotional concerns that good art from this area has in such great depth.
Since the change over the gallery has been undergoing an extensive and ambitious refurbishment to all three floors and will re-launch on Saturday 20th December with it's Mixed Winter Exhibition. The space is sure to be one of largest and most appealing Commercial spaces outside of London
There will be major new works by gallery artists in the extended space. We also plan to open year round to accommodate the requirements of our guests.
The website; www.millenniumgallery.co.uk is also undergoing development and we hope that this will prove to be a useful tool for keeping up with the galleries programme when you are unable to attend in person, where you will be able to download catalogues, view video tours of exhibitions and exhibition slideshows once shows have opened.
We are also now OwnArt registered in association with the Arts Council England, where 0% interest loans are available for the purchase of work. Applications are straightforward and any of the gallery staff are able to assist either in person or over the telephone.
Finally; Warmest Seasons Greetings, and we look forward to seeing you at âMillennium' hopefully at the re-launch if you can make it.
