About
The Leo Kuelbs Collection presents Mitte Media Festival 2019
April 18-20th
The Mitte Media Festival was founded 2017 by the Us-American curator and collector Leo Kuelbs together with the partners Robin Resch (coGalleries) and Konstantin Kopietz (Z-Bar).
Leo Kuelbs lives in New York and Berlin and presents extraordinary Video Art projects all over the world. Besides his art projects he is a specialist for Marketing events, which include two award-winning showcases (among five total) for Dom Perignon in Germany and the USA. Leo Kuelbs conceptualized and initiated the monthly LIGHT YEAR project on the Manhattan Bridge, now in its third year, as well as Mitte Media Festival, started in 2017, in Berlin.
With his first visit in the Berlin back in 2007, he came to the Z-Bar in Mitte. This bar is a famous meeting point for the Berlin art scene, especially filmmakers and video artists.
Since 2009 Leo Kuelbs visits Berlin frequently and is inspired by Mitte, the center of art in Berlin. That was the reason for him to launch the gallery Fata Morgana at the Torstrasse for an additional meeting platform of video art.
The Mitte Media Festival was founded in Berlin but represents a variety of international art. This year the Festival celebrates the artists and offers them a platform to network.
A wide range of short films, photography and silent movies are part of the program which will take place at four different galleries and helps to establish new contacts among other digital artists.
The Mitte Media Festival will take place in the week around Easter and is supported by the partners Directors Lounge (filmmakers club based in Friedrichshain), Photographer Sandra Ratkovic and as well the curator Thomas Zandegiacomo Del Bel (Zebra Poesie Group).
