The Live Art Development Agency (LADA) is delighted to invite you to this event with talks and performances to celebrate the launch of artist Tara Fatehi Irani's new publication Mishandled Archive.
About
Every day for a year, Fatehi Irani dispersed fragments of family photographs and documents in public places around the world. She made a photograph, an annotation, a dance and an Instagram post on each site. The book, elegantly designed by David Caines, features all 365 photographs and dance scores from the project alongside essays and other contributions by theatre and performance scholars Joe Kelleher, Marco Pustianaz and Giulia Palladini, anthropologist Shahram Khosravi, artists and writers Eirini Kartsaki, Nicola Conibere, Mary Paterson, Maddy Costa, Diana Damian Martin, Jemima Yong and Holly Revell.
"It’s a compelling project that celebrates the fragility, tenaciousness and fecundity of memory and the extraordinary capacity of images to summon narratives as they interact with landscape, casting a spell of connection between strangers in locations around the world, from London to Tehran, Newcastle to Zurich.” Tim Etchells, Artist and Director of Forced Entertainment
Hosted by Rachel Mars, the book launch event features an exclusive excerpt of an artist’s performance with Pouya Ehsaei and special performances and talks by the book contributors. Bring your drinks, dress up, make up or just turn up.
