About Wode Creamics
Bx Woo, also known as Wode Ceramics, is a Singaporean-born multidisciplinary artist who is most known for their work in miniature pottery in dreamscapes and non-ingestible confections.
Their pottery is often finished with pastel hues and soft rainbow gradients, which transport viewers to a realm of whimsical imagination.
Bx’s experience with miniature pottery began when they visited Jingdezhen in China. After shadowing one of the pioneers of mini pottery in the region, Bx specialised in the niche. They now work predominantly with porcelain and are always experimenting with new styles and techniques that push them to challenge the medium’s boundaries. Bx describes themself as both ‘technical and haphazard’, and their works demonstrate the possibilities of accidental discoveries.
Since 2021, Bx has been travelling around the world to deepen their research and understanding of ceramics from different practices and cultures. This has led Bx to conduct ceramic masterclasses and workshops to audiences from a range of backgrounds, which forms a core part of their work today. They also developed and launched The Wheelie, a small portable pottery wheel with a high torque, catered to both hobbyists and professional artists.
