About

Micro Plastics

Visual Arts Experience

‘Micro-Plastics’ is coming to 142 Hamilton Road Gallery from the 5th September providing immersive, experiential, conceptual art installations to awaken the senses. Having recently been a contributing Artist at the ‘Beyond Plastics’ Exhibition at the Minories, Colchester, Hannah Aria was inspired to facilitate a smaller Suffolk based event with a similar theme; exploring the impact of plastic waste on our environment.

Spearheaded by the recently featured BBC Radio Suffolk Artist, this collaborative event has gained support of local businesses and hopes to provide interactive, community-based engagement with a powerful message. Hannah is the Resident Artist for Quay Place (home of Suffolk Mind) and facilitates regular ‘Creative Change Workshops’. Hannah has curated this project, selecting artists that are both passionate about the subject matter and able to provide visually stimulating and thought provoking, works of art.

The public are encouraged to bring along empty plastic recyclables to fill the giant turtle sculpture with (sculpted by Cally James, Director of Suffolk open Studios). There will also be a Performance Art Projection Showing on Saturday 7th September at our ‘Visual Arts Experience Event’.
