Michelle Clarke-Stables: Snapshots of Familial Gazes

About

Barnsley-based artist Michelle Clarke-Stables' current project is a combination of her lifelong obsession with snapshots and the memories of the numerous people that have inspired her. When starting the project, Clarke-Stables wondered if others had also been fuelled by strong female characters at any point in their lives, and began to gather images of them; thus, Snapshots of Familial Gazes is about celebrating the inspiring woman that have influenced others in their own lives. Having now collected so many images from all kinds of people, and from places all around the world, Michelle has even managed to gain the support of influential celebrities, who have sent in their own images of the strong women that have been an inspiration in their lives.
