GAO presents Questions Remain, a solo exhibition of paintings by Michael Murphy (b. 1991, Carlow, Ireland).
About
For the occasion of his first solo exhibition, Murphy has produced a body of new paintings that combine a reduced vocabulary of motifs, such as spirals, helixes and organic patterning, with a bold use of colour. The works are rich and evocative, suggesting possible readings in their spare symbology, while remaining tacitly anti-representational and charting new ground within abstract painting.
