An exhibition that captures Japan inside and out — two artists, a mobile phone, and some very funny dogs!

Japan is one of the fastest moving cities in the world, with its bright lights, high-speed technology and towering skyscrapers, a three year stay could almost pass you in a flash. For this reason, Michael Hammond developed an overwhelming desire to capture all possible moments in the most appropriate way he knew how — on his mobile phone! Follow Michael's journey in this one-off exhibition, as he attempts to capture fragments of Japan. Mayuko Matsunami's paintings are fantastically observed and perfectly capture the pseudo-humanistic qualities of dogs. These portraits are vibrant, alive and guarantee to make you giggle, every time! About the Artists: Michael Hammond is a British born photographer. After studying at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, his attention to detail and creative picture taking led him to a varied career in the photographic industry. Having just returned from a three year stay in Japan, Michael is ready to exhibit his rich and multifaceted portfolio of work. Mayuko Matsunami is a Japanese illustrator studying at the London College of Communication. Whilst working as a designer in Japan she has also had a number of individual and group exhibitions in her home town of Nagoya. In 2003 she was awarded the ‘Prism Illustrations Selection' prize for her work. Mayuko is emerging on the UK art scene with her vibrant and always playful paintings.
