This Autumn, Broadway Gallery will be exhibiting works by internationally renowned textile artist Michael Brennand-Wood, as part of a tour of his exhibition Seeds of Memory organised by the National Centre of Craft and Design.
About
The exhibition looks back at Michael's 40 year career, displaying retrospective pieces such as Archive and The Art of Stitch, alongside 9 specially commissioned works. The New World series was produced for this exhibition and has allowed Michael to explore the seeds of his creativity.
Michael Brennand-Wood is recognised as one of the most innovative and inspiring artists working in textiles today. He is particularly interested in embroidery, lace-making and traditions in floral textiles. He uses his knowledge in these ancient crafts and combines them with modern day techniques, such as digital printing and computerised machine embroidery to create sculptural, wall-hung textiles and pieces.
