A special exhibition for h.Art at Old Chapel Gallery, Pembridge starts on Saturday September 12 promoting the work of talented British artists and makers from far and near.

About

Heading the line up and new comer to the gallery is printmaker Holly Brookes. Inspired by the natural world Holly’s work also explores her fascination for detail and texture. She works across a range of mediums including graphite, watercolour and pen but specialises in traditional printmaking techniques such as etching, engraving and collagraphy.

We are once again delighted to have a new collection of acrylic paintings and mixed media sculpture by Shirley Vauvelle. Her sculptures range from small pieces that hang to more intricate free standing pieces which include vintage materials and maps of our local environment.
Returning to the gallery is Herefordshire based artist Peter Horrocks whose new collection of paintings in his “Strata Column” series will all be presented in box frames. His works continue to explore the use of natural earth pigments. The gesture and textural quality of the works are explored by using additional techniques involving graphite, using a variety of surfaces and even tearing the board’s surface. All these being discovered in natural forms that he explores in nature.
We welcome a new collection of art work by Jemima Jameson who works mainly in acrylics but has more recently included pen and inks and layers of Gesso and varnish to create a more textured finish. She enjoys painting onto wooden panels, bowls and furniture which suits her style.
Silversmith Chrissie Nash will once again present us with an eye catching collection of silver jewellery and semi-precious stone necklaces…lovely enough to adorn any party outfit!
Artist Rachel Sudworth’s paintings are rarely of specific places. She takes drawing, colour studies and photographs she has made in the landscape back to the studio where they are distilled and explored. The complete pieces convey an impression of time, place and season inviting the viewer’s interpretation and involvement.

Returning to the gallery is ceramicist Katrin Moye whose colourfully decorated domestic pieces would happily adorn any kitchen table. From mugs and jugs to butter domes and more.

Ian McKay creates automata and mechanical toys for adults. We will be showing Ian’s new nautical range of wire and driftwood pieces including harbours scenes with sailing boats and lighthouses.

To compliment this exhibition there will be jewellery from many Herefordshire designers as well as pieces from Lesley Strickland, Gail Klevan, Marian Watson and Hilary Mee
