Compressed Space is an exhibit/installation/performance presenting Garment Industry off-cuts, fabrics that are usually sent to the landfills.
About
In addition to displaying garments made from salvaged fabrics, for the last three weeks of October, Melissa Lockwood will transform the space into her sewing studio. Drop by during Open Hours, to experience her process.
“My collections are intended to inspire other designers to view and use their off-cut fabrics as a resource rather than as garbage to send to the landfills. My work speaks on many aspects of the waste that is incurred though the mass disposal of fashion industry fabrics. You will be amazed by what can be made with what designers throw away!”—Melissa Lockwood, Designer of IQTEST
