The surreal wild world of the German painter Julien Deiss will be present at Blond & Blond Contemporary as part of the Berlin Art Week 2015 with an opening that wants to celebrate also the first anniversary of the gallery.
Julien Deiss (DK) was born on 23.04.1983 in Dusseldorf. He studied at the Dusseldorf Art Academy with Anzinger, Braun and Lüppertz and lives and works currently in Copenhagen.
Wide brushstrokes, sophisticated details, the process of formation and the structure of the color are clear, undeniable for the viewer’s eye: the personal style of the artist can’t be label, can’t have an univocal definition. The photorealism of those paintings in mating with social realism combines a relaxed but also expressive brushwork. His way of working results by the use of several substantive themes: from historical quotations to myths, from legends to everyday political observations. Dreiss says: "I dress quickly, like a collage, experiences and thoughts up on the canvas. Working I forget myself, forget the stumble image over details and throw myself in the road, turn around, decide, determine, following the sequences I’m feeling, I'm haphazard, thoughtless, naïve. Without fear! Afterwards you can remove all the traces of superfluity and no more danger exists because of the death of the idea of beginning. It is what brought artist in transition, what excited his ideas moving his feelings".
Blond & Blond contemporary is pleased to present this extraordinary talent and his controlled-uncontrolled work. Dreiss will be present at the opening.
