MEDIA OS 5.1 is an interactive audio-visual LIVE concert in 5.1 surround sound. The musicians perform behind a projection screen that shows films specifically developed for the performance. Audience members can interact with the show using any smart-phone with a QR Code reader.

About

MEDIA OS 5.1 discusses INFOBESITY (the overstimulation of
digital information) and its effects on human behaviour.

The live performance is an interactive audio-visual
experience in 5.1 surround sound. Audience members can
interact with the show using any smart-phone with a QRCode
reader.

The music contains elements of Psychedelia, Electronica,
Pop and Krautrock. The band play behind a large wall of
projected films specifically developed for each track,
that takes you on a digital journey through fake news,
social media and the surrealism of virtual life.

Musicians include: Ben Baxter (Cranes/Carmen Rosa), Andy
Booth (Broken Republic/Helsinki), Steve Verdin (Carmen
Rosa), Laila Hansen (Partial Facsimile founder).

Joining them on the night is electronic music producer
Simon Heartfield, who will be showcasing music and films
from his brand new album All That Is Solid Melts Into Air
(released April 14th 2017 on Limbic Productions).
Utilising and taking inspiration from documentary
dialogue and poetry, the twelve tracks shift between
dense, textured percussive techno, spatial electro and
post-punk guitar work to ambient electronics and
soundtrack themes.

Support comes from Jez Stevens and the infectious DJ Gary Wood will playing up-beat tunes throughout the evening and into the night.
