A chance to sketch and explore a unique piece of London history in a Victorian workshop, just behind Tate Modern.

About

Kirkaldy Testing Works houses the first ever universal testing machine, which was built for Robert Kirkaldy and brought to London in 1865. The two floors of the museum are also packed full of smaller machines, test samples and other historic artifacts.
There are many different spaces to draw in, and there will also be an expert guide to answer questions about the museum’s history and give demonstrations of some of the equipment.
Drawing tips and ideas will be provided by artist and illustrator Tom Pearce.

"Most museums now lay it out for you on a plate. Where else can you still experience that sense of walking into a working workshop? Please don't lose that!"
