- By bus, Banbury Bus Station is adjacent to Castle Quay.
- Banbury is served by Chiltern, Cross Country and First Great Western rail networks, with direct services to London Marylebone and London Paddington, Oxford, Birmingham New Street and Snowshill, Stratford-upon-Avon and Kidderminster. The station is just a short walk from the Museum.

Go back in time with Banbury Museum and remember those idyllic childhood days of magic and curiosity, where the marvels of the fairground and circus brought imaginations to life.
Mechanical Circus is a wonderfully nostalgic journey through the good old days of pre-electric entertainment. With lots of magical buttons to press and optical illusions to explore, the exhibition is truly interactive and is perfect for kids aged 1-100! Visitors can put their head in a lion’s mouth, lift the strongman weights or pose at the ‘beach’ – ideal for those family photo memories.
The exhibition includes Banbury Museum’s first international loans and features 20 historic artefacts from the Museum Boerhaave in The Netherlands. With over 40 automata exhibits and 10 interactive games, all displayed in an immersive carnival atmosphere, the exhibition promises a truly memorable experience for all the family.
