AboutThe Aura of Boxing is a photographic study, begun in 1996, by British artist Max Kandhola into the aesthetic and moral conflicts of the boxer within the spatial interior of the pugilistic landscape.
The contact sheet is the authentic eye of the photographer; it provides an intimate and highly personal and private encounter. Kandhola photographed boxers at different weight divisions: amateur and professional; unknown boxers; contenders; champions, and the boxing journeyman.
The Aura of Boxing is supported by Arts Council England and Nottingham Trent University.
Aura of Boxing is a three part exhibition showing at: New Art Exchange (Black & White), Rich Mix (Colour) and QUAD Chocolate Factory (Contact Sheets)
Please note this exhibition is at The Chocolate Factory, on John Street via Siddals Road, Derby DE1 2LX
