'Then & Now' incorporates a selection of sculpture from Blik's traditional, figurative body of work, as well as some of his most recent creations, with eight new sculptures being exhibited.
About
Amongst the new works are the artist's plaster of the commissioned trophy for the English National Ballet 'Emerging Dancer' competition; two male torsos; working plasters of figures taken from the artist's maquette for 'Love of Cyprus'; and three new standing figures. Some sculptures are the artist's original working models, which will not be available for sale, but which nonetheless provide an insight into the evolution of his work and working methods.
Maurice Blik will be available to meet with scheduled visitors on Saturday 3 October. Pre-booking is essential to enable the gallery to safely limit numbers to a maximum of six.
