About
Capturing the breathtaking landscapes of the West Coast of the UK, Matthew’s paintings are incredible to see in the flesh, using impasto paint he creates depth, building layers onto the canvas. By using this considered technique, Matthew’s artwork has such movement and an abundance of character in each dramatic landscape.
Matthew was born in Heswall, Merseyside in 1969. After studing at Withens Lane Art College, 1989 he went on to complete a BA in Industrial Design at Teesside University, 1990-93. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions from 1999 across the UK and his work resides in collections in UK, Europe, USA, China, South Africa and New Zealand. He has been with Thackeray Gallery since 2016.
Turning Edge is a collection of 30 stunning artworks, which can be viewed at THACKERAY GALLERY Est.1968, Kensington.
