Following his 2016 sell-out show, Matthew Snowden creates a collection of 30 new & unseen artworks, which map for the viewer the immense beauty of the UK’s ‘Outer Edges’ – from its Wild shorelines, Autumnal Forests and Mountainous Peaks
About
Working with copious amounts of paint, and using a palette knife, Matthew creates astonishing textural works on canvas of incredible landscape scenes that are both dynamic and powerfully moving. With subjects that are close to his heart, this transient artist roams the west coast of the British Isles capturing the incredible beauty of this country’s wilderness, along its “Outer Edges”.
Matthew’s work can be found in The National Library of Wales, and The Williamson Art Gallery and Museum. His collectors come from all over the world
In the artist's own words:
"Wild places to me are food for the soul. There are so many places we can go to on this great Island to experience a sense of wildness, but the best places do require a bit of effort to get to. For me, it is like a pilgrimage, the difficulty, preparation and time in getting there is all part of the journey and attraction".
