Landscape underlain by limestone which has been eroded by dissolution, producing ridges, towers, fissures, sinkholes and other characteristic landforms.

Speleothems; Flowstone, Stalagmites, Stalactites, Soda-straws, Moon milk, Helitite. Are complex structures (sculpture) of mineral deposits forming over periods of time in the right environments. For the exhibition a new series sculptures are presented, a product of behaviours and attitudes formed and developed in an architecture of: Material/Image/Reaction/Feeling. The sculptures contain an array of marks and material resonating on both plastic and conceptual levels, moving between architectural dioramas, artefacts, the domestic and abstract. As formal sculpture they present a formlessness. An anachronistic time stretches and compresses the speed in which the works can be read, creating a multi-layered strata of narrative, colliding moments of the everyday, personal histories as well as cultural and art historical signifiers.
Matthew Peers (b.1991 Manchester) lives and works in London. He will complete studies at the Royal Academy Schools, London in 2021 and graduated from Slade School of Fine Art, London 2010-2014.
