A series of recent paintings and drawings by London based artist Matteo Fuzzi.
About
The artist research is mainly focused on landscape and abstraction, where a process of layering and intuition is an investigation into what an abstract painting is or could be without regard to any strategy or plans.
Inspired by natural and urban landscapes, every painting is a dense and structured work, where hidden marks on the background reveal themselves in a open process of addition and revision, mistakes and fortuity.
The title “Burnt Fields” relates directly to various elements engrained within the artist’s memory where he recalls the landscape inspired by his travels in Italy. The painting process is linked to experiences and feelings that are enacted upon a two-dimensional surface.
