Arts & Crafts at Malt Cross presents Mass Production Pt.1, the first half of a two-part exhibition exploring the modern and historical crossover of craft and industry in the Midlands.
About
Artists George Chinnery, Charlotte Salt and David Severn discuss the rise of the ‘Arts & Crafts’ movement, the fallout brought about by Thatcherism and what it means to be a crafts person in our post-industrial landscape, in this multi-disciplinary exhibition.
In 2014 the Malt Cross received Heritage Lottery Funding to open a below ground workshop and gallery to support artists and makers and provide opportunities for the general public to learn more about Arts & Crafts. Mass Production Pt. 1 will take place over two floors beneath the Malt Cross, in our gallery and workshop space.
To coincide with the exhibition Arts & Crafts at Malt Cross will host a programme of related events. For further details on the programme please visit maltcross.com.
