An artist strongly linked to the English landscape tradition, Martyn’s inspiration for this exhibition is the quality of light prevalent near his home and studio on the south Dorset coast.

Waterhouse & Dodd’s current exhibition features a new collection of paintings and drawings by Martyn Brewster.  Martyn is a well known abstract painter and printmaker who has exhibited widely over the last 30 years and this new collection of work represents his third solo exhibition since joining Waterhouse & Dodd in the autumn of 2011.

The exhibition opens next week on the 1st March and runs until 24th March.

Martyn has had retrospective exhibitions at the Russell Cotes Art Gallery and Museum (1997), the Royal West of England Academy (2001), and the Study Gallery of Modern Art, Poole (2003) amongst others. He has won numerous awards and has work in over 60 private, public and corporate collections worldwide. Public collections include the Victoria & Albert Museum, British Museum, Russell Cotes Art Gallery and Museum, Arts Institute at Bournemouth and Bournemouth University. A study of his life and work by Simon Olding and Mel Gooding was published in 1997. A major publication Martyn Brewster – Prints 1975- 2007 by Vivienne Light and Simon Olding has been published by Canterton Books.
