About
A dog with a man, the phantom of a vagina, dogs copulating unrestrained, and the image of a shark in the deep cold ocean. Our thinking is full of animal metaphors; of parts of our consciousness or subconscious projected on them. In them, our animal heritage appears as a "human animal". Our concept of ourselves is separated from nature, to be superior to it, to dominate it. However, closer inspection shows cracks in these perceptions. For his work, Marius Heckmann often uses parts of collective imagery as they are found everywhere, in advertising, on the Internet, etcetera.
