The 8th edition of Mamut Art Project returns to KüçükÇiftlik Park in Istanbul between 1-5 April 2020. Exhibited since 2015 under the sponsorship of Akkök Holding, Mamut Art Project has now matured into Istanbul’s much-anticipated annual art event where approximately 50 emerging artists come together each year from across Turkey and beyond.
Call for Applications
Applications for Mamut Art Project 2020 are now open to any independent contemporary artist with no restrictions of age, medium or education. This year's jury includes Sabancı University Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Program Coordinator, artist and musician Selçuk Artut; curator, writer, and director of SAHA association Çelenk Bafra; artist Aslı Çavuşoğlu; founder of Gallery ArtSümer Aslı Sümer; collector and founder of OMM - Odunpazarı Modern Museum Erol Tabanca. Each selected artist will be provided with an individual exhibition space inside the venue to show their works for 5 days and at the special opening event to emerging and established collectors, gallery owners, and curators in the 8th edition of Mamut.

As a rent-free platform, Mamut Art Project offers undiscovered artists the opportunity to showcase their works in their own individual exhibition space. Accepting applications until November 30, Mamut Art Project provides emerging artists with the visibility they deserve and introduces them to the art market by bringing them together with collectors, gallery owners, and art professionals. As well as providing curatorial guidance, an exhibition space with international standards, PR support, and network opportunities during the exhibition, Mamut Art Project is also proud to give professional counseling to each participating artist during and after the exhibition.
Last year, the 7th edition of Mamut Art Project exhibited more than 600 individual works by 49 exciting new artists selected from 1350 applications, the highest number of applications secured since its first edition. Over the past 2 years, Mamut Art Project received more than 35,000 visitors and the 2019 edition attracted over 18,000 visitors.
Mamut Art Project offers collectors and art lovers the possibility to own a unique and original piece of art and to support emerging talents at the beginning of their careers. Also, for those looking to purchase as an investment, it gives the assurance that the artists are carefully selected by jury members who are experts in their fields. Sponsored by Akkök Holding, this year’s edition also aims to showcase developing art practices from all around Turkey including less familiar areas and from a wider region and to inspire art lovers with its distinctive exhibition and parallel activities program including Mamut Shots, Mamut Performances and Mamut Kids.
