Expanding their interest in the production and presentation of artwork, in Making Use Luke Kemp and Nicholas Lawrence will exhibit newly commissioned pieces from their Divisive Furniture range. Investigating the implication different market contexts have on the value and function of objects, Kemp and Lawrence‘s series of stools function both as stands for the display of various publications, as well as pieces of furniture on which to sit and read. Crossing the boundaries between fine art, product design, graphic design and the curation of exhibitions, their practice works to establish alternative relationships and associations between the materials it presents. Founded in London in 2009 by Luke Kemp and Nicholas Lawrence, ASSEMBLY_projects a collaborative platform for the practice and investigation of art. ASSEMBLY_projects coordinate exhibitions, events and publications showcasing a broad range of artistic collaboration.
