Making the Unseen Seen is the new exhibition of the artist in residence and Danish sculptor Freja Niemann Lundrup at SEA Foundation Tilburg.
About
During her residency, Freja Niemann Lundrup focused on the ‘Unheimlich’ in relation to horror and trauma in the body. Her sculptures demonstrate the intricate relation between body and mind. Or, more specifically, between the physical feeling and rational thoughts regarding a traumatic experience. She makes an outside for the inside.
The philosophical background of the sculptures appeals to current tendencies in cultural theory and neurophilosophy regarding the connection between mind and body, and the place memory takes in.
The exhibition opens on 15th December from 3-6 pm
Exhibition dates: 15th December 2019 - 31st January 2020
The exhibition is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and the Mondriaanfonds.
