About
Invited to explore the theme in its widest realms, artists will demonstrate a broad range of approaches and interpretations and showcase diverse aspects of textile art practice.
The exhibition takes place as part of the 'Space' themed Barnaby Festival, taking place 17-26 June 2016. This contemporary arts festival, celebrates Macclesfield's rich culture and creative heritage through a wide range of visual arts, music and performing arts events.
Making Space shows at The Silk Museum on Park Lane, Macclesfield. The museum follows the full journey through the industrial process of silk making; explore silk from the cocoon to the loom. With plenty of hands-on exhibits for children and adults alike. The Museum houses a permanent exhibition which explores the properties of silk, design education, Macclesfield’s diverse textile industries, workers lives, Macclesfield Silk during the war and historic machinery.
To coincide with Making Space the 62 Group will be running a two special textile workshops at the SIlk Museum.
