2 One Day Intensive courses on neon sculpture, introducing you to the history of the medium and the creative opportunities it affords. Participants will also be able to sculpt their own neon creations to take home with them at the end of the day.
About
What will I be doing during this workshop?
Learn about the history and nature of neon, transcribe creative ideas into neon drawings and learn about the shaping of glass over hot flames. Fill your glass forms with gas to make energy-saving, 100 percent recyclable light.
Do I need any equipment?
The price includes your transformer, gas for your artwork and a 1.5m length of glass tube. As we will be working with open flames, please avoid wearing synthetic clothing and if your hair is long, kindly tie it back.
Any previous knowledge required?
No previous experience is necessary. By the end of the day you will take home a piece of neon that you have designed. You have the option to either make it yourself or with the tutors' help.
