About

With my works I search for the manifold feelings that the world around me is generating. I usually express myself in something between abstract and representative  art. I use a lot of symbolic language - often of several interpretations. I´m studying different ways of expressing myself so that it also raises ideas, questions, and feelings in the viewer. The world has no self-doubt or ready answers.

In addition to my artistic education, my background is in social science and philosophy. My social science education is often reflected in my paintings one way or another.

The present works in the series 5B5W5Q and At the Border reflect on the relationship between external beauty and inner anxiety. Often, it is unfortunate that external beauty is the end of itself, meaningless, just momentary pleasure, or it hides the growing anxiety about the future, threatening natural disasters, uncertainty in world politics, refugee masses, fear of otherness, racism, etc.

“The human condition is, however, that of possessing no moral safety net. No God, no scientific law, nor yet any amount of ethical concrete, can protect us from the danger of falling off the moral tightrope that we are condemned to walk as human beings. It can be a highly disconcerting prospect. Or it can be a highly exhilarating one. The choice is ours.”The Quest for a Moral Compass, A global History of Ethics, Kenan Malik, Atlantic Book Ltd, 2014

Uns bleibt die Wahl.“ The Quest for a Moral Compass, A global History of Ethics, Kenan Malik, Atlantik Book Ltd, 2014
