---------------------------------------------------------
Felisha Maria Carenage (b.1986) uses cultural commodities in painting, installations and performances to explore ambiguities in desire and belonging. Born in Trinidad and Tobago and living in Berlin, her recent postgraduate research examined the remaining traces of empire in the German Atlantic port region of Schleswig-Holstein. She lectures and leads workshops on decolonial thought as an integral part of German art education and practice. Most recently she has worked with The Museum of Ethnology (MARKK), Hamburg, SAVVY gallery, Berlin and the artistic research project Talking Objects Lab dedicated to the decolonization of memory and knowledge.
