AboutWorking on collaborative installations which feed from and into varied individual practices, MadeScapes^ draw on individual and collective experience within a constantly evolving digital world. Unified by a common focus, MadeScapes^ art presents recurring conceptual themes embodied in a visually diverse but simultaneously coherent body of work.
Embracing formal diversity, HOLIDAYS draws together a range of methods and media; traditional approaches such as painting and carpentry are placed in parallel with glitch portraiture, text on social media platforms and looped blog videos. Springing from conceptual premises as varied as the natural world to video games, digital culture to history and taste, these eclectic approaches, activities and sensibilities reflect the hyper-saturated, data-drenched forms and habits of information exchange in the 21st century whilst simultaneously enabling interaction between audience, artists, works, space and community.
Fragmentation and appropriation are the determining factors of contemporary narratives; as the first generation of digital natives comes of age, it constructs its own story, around and through its interactions with the screens and surfaces of mass culture.
